POWER QUEST Forced To Pull Out Of PROGPOWER USA X Festival

July 16, 2009

U.K. metallers POWER QUEST have been forced to cancel their appearance at the ProgPower USA X festival in Atlanta, Georgia on September 11. The bandmembers were denied their U.S. working visas and will be unable to enter the country to play the event.

Commented keyboardist Steve Williams: "We are absolutely gutted that we won't be able to come over for ProgPower USA X. We've been looking forward to this for the best part of a year and it was going to be the highlight of 2009 for us. Having spoken at great length with the promoter Glenn, there was absolutely nothing that could be done once we heard the decision that had been made.

"I'm so sorry for you, our fans, who had contacted us saying how much they were looking forward to finally seeing us on U.S. soil... and then this happens!!! Hopefully we can come over in the future and be a bit more fortunate when it comes to whoever reviews our visa applications.

"We had booked flights as well so the band will take a loss of around £1500 on that alone...

"Glenn has done a great job in sorting out the roster at such short notice... I'm sure you will all have a fantastic time as always at ProgPower USA X. I'm just sorry that we won't be able to be there and share it with you."

POWER QUEST recently announced that vocalist Alessio Garavello will be leaving the band after the festival shows in September.

POWER QUEST is starting the search to find a world-class vocalist to front the group and to jump straight into working on the band's fifth record. If you think you have what it takes, please contact Steve Williams at [email protected] and include a photo, biography and both audio and video examples of your work. Applicants must be willing to tour and rehearse as required.

POWER QUEST's latest album, "Master of Illusion", was released last year via Napalm Records/Avalon Marquee (Japan). Guest musicians on the CD include keyboardist Richard West from the U.K. progressive metal band THRESHOLD, Jorn Viggo Lofstad from the Norwegian power metal act PAGAN'S MIND and FOURWAYKILL singer Chris Neighbour.
